Group Duties

The following is a list of duties associated with the Apple Day campaign.  By following these instructions, groups can help to ensure a safe, fun day for all involved.

·                    Produce and distribute information packages to all members.

·                    All registered members of Scouts Canada MUST wear full uniform to qualify for Apple Day points.

·                    Ensure that each Youth bring a decorated basket.  DEPOTS WILL NOT SUPPLY BASKETS!

·                    Ensure that ALL youth are under CONSTANT supervision. Theft, assault, etc. cannot be prevented if adults are seated in their cars.  Please stress this to ALL of your leaders and volunteers.

·                    Locations are assigned on a first come, first served basis and are not negotiable.  Please do not tell parents or youth that they may cover their own street, they will most likely be disappointed.

·                    Ensure that youth do not enter any place of business for the purpose of solicitation.  Washroom and food breaks can be taken on a rotating basis, providing that constant supervision is given.

·                    Depots do not provide Dinners/Lunches.  Groups may, however, make arrangements for shifts that carry over lunch hours.

·                    Further instructions will be available at the Depots.

·                    Pray for good weather as often as you can!
