Apple Day Information Kit

Dear Scouters,

As you know, Apple Day is one of the most successful fund raising campaigns of the Scouting year.  Did you also know that it began as a way for one Toronto Group to say ‘thanks’ to its community?  They handed out apples as a thank you for support shown over the year, and people began to give donations in return.  We do not sell apples on Apple Day; we merely continue the tradition of thanking our community.  I would like you to remind our youth of this as we gear up towards Apple Day.

This year promises to be another good one.  The Apple Day Committee has been working hard to secure a Depot and covering locations, as well as streamlining our map assignment process in order to get you in and out of the Depot faster.

Part of this streamlining process includes a clarification of ratio policies, simplification of assigning large mall and plaza locations and a newly revised information package.

Since most groups turn around and make their packages anyway, the committee has decided to give you all of the information here and you may copy it as you please.  There will not be a hard copy of this kit available as in the past.  It consists of this Info page, Group Duties, Depot Boundaries, Depot Locations, Hours of Operation and Instructions to Parents and Youth. The “Instructions To Parents and Youth” page is one that you may want to print from your browser.
